Welcome

I am proud to welcome you to our wonderful school.

At St John the Evangelist CE Primary School, we provide a happy, nurturing and supportive environment founded on the principles of the Christian faith; helping to develop children’s spiritual growth and moral understanding. All members of our school community are valued and respected, so that everyone can have a positive attitude towards themselves, others and life.

We believe that we are all learners on a journey that is sometimes challenging, often exciting and always worthwhile, as we show care for others and strive to achieve excellence. Our relationships, daily interactions and the decisions we make at St John the Evangelist Primary School are routed in our shared values. We work together to ensure all our children experience success and reach the highest standards of academic achievement, whilst nurturing their self-belief.

We believe that the ‘special feel’ at St John’s is related to the caring atmosphere that pervades the school, the responsibility that all members of our school community take to be the best we can be and the way we inspire each other through our creative and exciting approach to learning.

The excellent start begins in Nursery and continues through the school with staff providing a happy, supportive and purposeful environment, and a curriculum that excites and stimulates children's imagination and creative thinking. Outside of the school day, we offer a range of after school clubs as well as before and after school childcare.

Our school is led by a dedicated group of governors who work with the headteacher and staff to provide the best experiences for the children in our care. We are grateful for a very supportive parent body and a Home School Association that works hard to provide events for the school community and raise money for all the extras we like to provide. In addition, we have strong links with the local community, including St John the Evangelist Church.

The best way to find out more about our school is to come and visit, to see us in action and meet the staff and children. Visits can be made by contacting the school office on 01993 843124.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school, and to a happy and successful partnership with all our new children and families.
